Hike to the top of the Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) cliffs on the south west coast of County Donegal and marvel at the terrific views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Sligo Mountains and Donegal Bay.

Discover extraordinary Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) and admire some of the best sea cliff views in Europe. To fully enjoy the spectacle of Sliabh Liag (Slieve League), leave your car at the car park and walk to the cliffs. For over a thousand years, there was a Christian pilgrimage to these sacred mountains to appreciate their cultural heritage.

The Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) cliffs are truly breathtaking, the cliff face of Bunglas rises over 600m above the raging ocean. Only experienced walkers should venture beyond the viewing point onto One Man's Pass which loops around the Pilgrim's Path.

Book a boat trip from nearby Teelin Harbour to the base of the majestic sea cliffs, hear local legends and colourful stories from the skipper. A swim with the local pod of dolphins is a real treat and if you arrive in May or June, watch out for basking sharks.

Childhood memories of summers spent at his grandparents’ homestead, exploring the wild Atlantic coast and an ever growing desire to breathe new life into an almost forgotten style of Irish whiskey, enticed James Doherty to bring his family back to County Donegal. The result is The Ardara Distillery.
