The 18th century old brick faced walls of Lodge Park Walled Garden in County Kildare continue to be clothed with exotic climbers, fruit trees and roses. A magnificent south facing shrub border edged in box hedges and topiarised yew trees runs the length of the garden. Beech hedges divide the different compartments of the garden, which include a white garden, peony border, south facing shrub border, working vegetable garden, herbaceous border, rose garden and north facing woodland walkway. Another feature of the garden is the outstanding rosary that is encountered on entering the orchard. The flowers bloom and their scent are at their best during June and July, a heady experience for the senses.

Lodge Park Walled Garden is a family friendly garden for people of all ages. There are also several lawn areas and seating areas ideal for a family picnic or to take in the view and enjoy the surroundings. The greenhouse contains a fascinating collection of rare and unusual plants from all over the world.

Barista Bike proudly runs a café in the beautiful surroundings of Straffan Steam Museum and the magical Lodge Park Walled Gardens. They serve delicious breakfasts and gourmet lunches, freshly made from carefully selected local produce and ingredients from the walled garden. The Barista Bike coffee is produced by a family of small artisan roasters in small batches. It is derived from a light roast of carefully selected beans specifically produced for the Barista Bike.
