County Kilkenny is regarded as the hurling capital of Ireland. Join The Kilkenny Way Hurling Experience and let them show you the fun, passion, skill, culture and pride of hurling, the world’s oldest and fastest field game.

The Kilkenny Way Hurling Experience showcases the 3000 year old Celtic game which is regarded as the world's oldest and fastest outdoor field game. Hurling is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic origin, administered by the Gaelic Athletic Association, in terms of game play. It is one of Ireland's native Gaelic games. There is a similar game for women called camogie. Kilkenny is regarded as the home of hurling champions and are known as the Kilkenny Cats.

During the hurling experience you will be shown a video about the history of hurling and have a chance to try it yourself. You will feel the excitement of the fastest game in the world, learn the skills of the game from the experienced hurling guides and hear about the craftsmanship of the hurley.

You will visit Legends Hurling Bar Museum, dedicated to the heroes that have played the game of hurling, past and present. The walls are adorned with beautiful hand painted murals of Ireland's finest hurlers and some beautiful prints of historical hurling moments from across the decades. At the O'Loughlin Gaels grounds you will have a chance to learn the skills of the game. You will watch a game of hurling, to see the skills you have learned on the pitch, while enjoying a bowl of Lanigan's famous fresh Irish lamb stew in the heart of Kilkenny City.
