Ruby Ellen's Tea Rooms located on Newry Street in Carlingford is the latest edition to the superb choice of restaurants and eating venues in this lovely seaside town.

Ruby Ellen's in County Louth sets a new standard in excellence and style. It is located in a lovely old house which opens on to the street and from the back and there is a magnificent view of Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains.

The ambiance and lovely fair on offer makes Ruby Ellen's a must visit for either a lazy lunch or a special occasion. Serving a range of foods including breakfast with granola topped by honey and yogurt, porridge, a traditional full Irish, eggs, Manx kippers and smoked salmon are just some of the mouthwatering items on offer.

Meanwhile the choice of light snacks on the menu is very attractive including wraps, oven baked potatoes with a range of accompaniments including smoked salmon, crab, sweet chili beef and much more. To top it all off, Ruby Ellen's Afternoon Tea for Two is a delight with sandwiches, scones with cream and homemade jam, cakes and pastries. There is also an excellent kids menu.

The Tea Rooms consist of four rooms in the house, two upstairs and two on the ground floor. At the back there is a lovely sheltered terrace where food is served in good weather and on any suitable Saturday it will be packed with people enjoying the food, the company, the sunshine and the view of the Mournes.

The staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful and always have a smile for the customer.

The next time you are in Carlingford make a point of visiting Ruby Ellen's Tea Rooms, they certainly do things with style and pride themselves in their old fashioned quality service.
