Pure Magic is a kitesurfing school situated on Achill Island off Ireland's west coast that aims to empower, motivate and inspire visitors to become independent kite surfers and to ensure the experience is fulfilling and memorable.

Pure Magic is a kitesurfing school with adjacent lodge based in Achill, the largest island off Ireland's west coast and a magical paradise for kite surfers! Swept by the winds throughout the year, this is the first land mass in Europe to receive the wind from the Atlantic, and it blows! The island provides an endless list of spots from lakes to beach breaks and whatever the level, the Pure Magic team will always find the right spot to suit the wind direction.

Lessons are given on Keel Lake, which is the ideal spot to learn kiting as it is safe, shallow and easy to access. Anyone from a total beginner to intermediate or advanced, visitor or locals alike will enjoy flying a kite beside a trained and experienced instructor in the beautiful scenery of Achill. Children from 11 years old are accepted and lessons include all the equipment and insurance.

A full kitesurfing course is 12 hours long, with other shorter sessions available. After the full course, students are considered an independent rider, they have learnt all the essential skills needed including safety management and are considered independent enough to practice and eventually become a fully fledged rider. It is only then that you will fully appreciate and enjoy the amazing sport of kitesurfing.

If visitors would like something else, they can try the stand-up paddle board lessons, one of the latest and most fun sports ever, cruise around the coast, surf some waves or just practice on the lake.

The lodge and school open on the weekend of St. Patrick's and closes early November. During this time lessons can be scheduled morning, afternoon and evening and run every single day.
