The Boyne Blueway Trim is a beautiful stretch of the River Boyne in County Meath, which flows from the picturesque heritage town of Trim, to Bective Mill.
The Boyne Blueway Trim is 8km long and can be paddled in 2.5 to 3 hours. It is suitable for beginners and more experienced paddlers.
Start your experience in Trim at the Boyne Valley Activities Centre on Jonathan Swift Street. Facilities here include boat washdown, kayak hire, showers, toilets, coffee facilities and a shuttlebus base which picks up from Bective Mill to return to Trim. The river along here is grade II, which means it is generally slow moving and easily managed, with no weirs or obstructions.
While in Trim be sure to visit the majestic Trim Castle, take a stroll on the riverside walk through the medieval Porchfields, before enjoying a delicious meal or drink in the town, and then relax in a wide range of accommodation options.
