King House Historic & Cultural Centre is located just off the N4 in Boyle, County Roscommon. It is beautifully restored with an interesting visitor centre. The centre tells the stories of this important house as a home to the King family, a barracks to the Connaught Rangers and displays important cultural collections and Irish history exhibitions.
Visitors of all ages are enthralled by stories of medieval Ireland, the fascinating King family and the history of the Connaught Rangers. Set in this magnificent, sensitively restored Georgian mansion, the exhibitions really bring the past to life with life sized figures and interactive displays.
Around the corner from King House, find the birthplace of actress Maureen O'Sullivan, mother of Mia Farrow and famous for playing Jane Porter in the Tarzan film series.
Every summer during the Boyle Arts Festival, King House hosts a large group exhibition featuring some of Ireland's most prominent artists.
