Strandhill Surf School, County Sligo, is 8km from the town of Sligo on Strandhill Beach. With an ideal beachfront premises, it provides surf lessons for children and adults, as well as stand up paddle boarding. All gear and equipment are provided, and instructors are focused on making the experience enjoyable and safe.

Strandhill Surf School lets you experience the excitement of surfing and stand up paddle boarding with highly qualified instructors who have valuable knowledge of the local waves. They offer a variety of lessons catering for individuals, small groups, large groups and special occasions.

Beginner lessons teach the basics of surfing. Each lesson takes 3 hours and wetsuits are provided. Qualified surf instructors work in the water with you throughout the lesson, which takes place in waist deep water. They ensure you are in a safe location on the beach with quality waves.

Lessons run all day and are scheduled at different times. All you need to bring is a towel and swimwear. Changing facilities with showers and toilets are available. If you’ve had lessons before, you can bypass the beginner’s tuition and head straight out into the surf with your own instructor. Children's lessons and summer camps are also available.

Stand up paddleboarding, or SUP for short, is a fast growing sport. It involves standing on a large, buoyant surfboard and using a paddle to move the board through flat water. Strandhill Surf School has locations in the area with spectacular scenery. Culleenamore Bay is a beautiful tidal reserve, home to one of the largest seal sanctuaries around. The pristine waters of Lough Gill, just a short drive from Strandhill, also offers easy paddle boarding with views of the surrounding forests and mountains.
